Reviews for Yoshiya
Review highlights
Based on 553 reviewsYoshiya is consistently praised for its fresh and well-prepared Japanese dishes, particularly seafood options like salmon bowls that showcase clean, balanced flavors. The restaurant is appreciated for its affordable pricing, transparent billing, and value for money, making it an attractive choice for straightforward, satisfying meals. Customers also highlight the welcoming self-service approach, including complimentary ginger and refillable green tea, enhancing the casual dining experience. While some dishes like the curry chicken receive mixed feedback for lacking depth, the overall reception remains positive. The menu’s simplicity and quality, combined with attentive service practices, make Yoshiya a favored spot for both quick bites and family-friendly dining in the Balestier area.
The salmon bowl was a highlight. It was perfectly cooked with just the right balance of seasoning, letting the natural flavor of the salmon come through. Fresh and satisfying. The curry chicken, on the other hand, didn’t quite deliver. It was lacking the depth and richness you’d expect from a good curry, leaving it a bit flat compared to the salmon. Overall, a mixed experience but worth trying for the salmon.
Great! Came off the plane ate here 8.45pm almost closing time (9.15 on a Sunday). Had vegetarian warm crunchy cabbage dish and agedashi tofu dish. Fantastic!! Super simple and hits the spot!
The dishes were reasonably priced. The cost of the dinner was around $48. The prices stated in the menu are nett price. We have accidentally ordered extra udon and the cashier informed us on it instead of charging us for all the dishes. Love that they use thin udon and the soup goes well with it. It was not saltish. The miso soup wasn’t saltish as well. All the dishes were good and my kids love the beef rice and udon.
More restaurants should be like this. This restaurant does not charge service charge but provides ginger and refillable green tea at self-service counters for your use. The food is really delicious and value for money. You won't go wrong if you just want a simple meal.
